Even if Devil May Cry's gambles don't always pay off, it is the perfect project for fans unfamiliar with the game series to check out, as it provides a layered introduction to this universe and its characters. The mainstream attention of a Netflix adaptation only helps the franchise grow bigger, hence why this project being serviceable was so important.
Between its interesting character interpretations, expanded lore, and fresh ideas, Devil May Cry stands out as one of 2026's most underrated gaming adaptations, and season 2 will hopefully build on this strong start to cement the series as a modern classic.

With the groundwork laid out, Devil May Cry season 2 is gearing up to be even better than the first outing, as there's already some great storylines in the works. The feud between Dante and Vergil will take center stage when the show returns, giving fans an intriguing new take on this sibling rivalry that rarely disappoints.
While they're almost destined to team up at some point in the future, seeing them at odds certainly gives season 2 a major selling point, especially with the build-up to their confrontation seeming just as interesting as their eventual fight itself.
