Hall has brought the character to life for 20 years with three spin-offs and a planned fourth spin-off. Resurrection is arguably the most loved, with some of the highest-rated episodes of the franchise, and the first season received an impressive 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Showtime has announced that Dan Stevens will join season 2 as a series regular. Stevens, known for Zero Day and Downton Abbey, will play the role of Owen Stark, the Five Borough Killer, and the second main villain of the series. Owen Stark is a serial killer who replicates the Zodiac by taunting police with phone calls and threatening to murder innocent people.
