George Washington went from a planter in Virginia to the commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution and became the first U.S. President. Known as the "Father of His Country," his legacy remains in America today, even 226 years after his death. Now, the story of Washington and his tales during his time in the war will be revisited by Serkis and others.

The Young Washington trailer has debuted, showing exactly what's in store for the upcoming war movie as a young Washington takes center stage. The cast includes Ben Kingsley as Robert Dinwiddle, Serkis as Edward Braddock, Mia Rogers as Sally Fairfax, Joel Smallbone as William Fairfax, and William Franklyn-Miller as George Washington. Other cast members include Kelsey Grammer as Thomas Fairfax, Jonno Davies as James Mackay, and Mary-Louise Parker as Mary Ball Washington.

Young Washington will arrive in theaters on July 3 and comes from filmmaker Jon Erwin (known for House of David). The historical epic will be based on the true story that shaped an entire nation and changed the fate of America. It will follow in the French and Indian War while also juggling the political inner workings of the war.

is the first collaboration between Angel Studios and the independent production banner Wonder Project. The studio is hoping for a major box office event to commemorate the historical moment in the U.S. The movie was co-written by director Erwin, as well as Tom Provost and Diedrik van Hoogstraten.
