Production has officially wrapped for season 18, bringing the long-running comedy one step closer to the screen.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a long-running dark comedy that follows a group of selfish and morally questionable friends who run Paddy’s Pub, a struggling Irish bar in South Philadelphia. They spend their time coming up with elaborate plans that almost never go as planned. Instead of success, their antics typically spiral out of control.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator and star Rob McElhenney announced on Instagram that filming has indeed concluded on his official Instagram account. His post included a photo of the cast and crew of the series, accompanied by a caption that stated, "That’s a production wrap on season 18. Love this crew so goddamn much. Can’t wait to show you what we cooked up."

Although FXX has not confirmed a release date for the upcoming installment, the last two seasons have aired during the summer. As a result, viewers have speculated that it's very likely that Mac (McElhenney), , Dee (Kaitlin Olson), Charlie (Charlie Day), and Frank (Danny DeVito) will come back with their misadventures within that timeframe as well.
