Final Fantasy 10's Rikku Is Back

An official reveal trailer from Square Enix recently launched, which showcases two new iconic Final Fantasy characters that will be introduced to Dissidia Duellum on April 28, 2026. Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is a free-to-play mobile FF experience featuring 3v3 multiplayer team boss battle gameplay with various Final Fantasy characters from across the franchise.

Final Fantasy 10's Rikku is making an official return in Dissidia Duellum on April 28, with a complete new redesign and new costumes and abilities. The trailer showcases her modern appearance compared to the original look from Final Fantasy 10, and also confirms various other details, such as her specific move set and that she will be voiced by Marika Matsumoto, who voiced Rikku in the original game as well as multiple spin-offs, such as Kingdom Hearts 2. Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy Is Available Now

is a free-to-play mobile spinoff game from Square Enix that has been met with mixed reactions among players. It first launched in March 2026 for iOS and Android as a free-to-play experience, and features simplified combat and an original story set in modern-day Tokyo.

In Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, "a giant crystal appears in the city of Tokyo ... [and] strange monsters appear from a mysterious, menacing energy polluting the crystal, driving humanity to despair." Players will hunt monsters near the crystal to restore order, playing as multiple iconic Final Fantasy characters with a range of unique abilities and skills.

While most hardcore fans are happy to enjoy any and all Final Fantasy content they can get their hands on, the free-to-play microtransaction model isn't the most popular approach, and as such Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy has faced quite a bit of pushback from many players as being an uninspired cash grab from Square Enix.
