will live on for decades. Not only is Bethesda constantly making sure we don't forget about it with updated editions and ports, but the modding community will never stop working on the game. Just look at all the that are still coming out to this day, decades after their release.
Over on , you can jump into the multiplayer world of Skyrim pretty quickly. It's somewhat of a wishlist item for a lot of hardcore players, and now that dream is realized, in an incredibly easy-to-navigate package.
Skyrim Returns As Keizaal Online
It's An Extensive Project
Released this year, Keizaal Online is a fan-crafted multiplayer mode for Skyrim. It's impressive in the sense that this is essentially an MMO-like experience, allowing players to dive in and play with others in an online world. There are even community events to take part in, like the "Grand Games" competition slated for the next few weekends.
The game is always evolving thanks to updates, too. Just this month, horses, stables, and new emote mechanics were added to Keizaal Online, on top of some bug fixes and quality of life upgrades. It's astounding just how big a project this really is. PVP is available too, for good measure, and the website has a map of Skyrim that updates in real time when players are in the Keizaal Online game world.
At the current moment, Keizaal Online is in a public playtest period, but the team anticipates a full release "coming soon." Expect more updates on this project, along with additional activities and content, as the year progresses. This is an ambitious project that doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
Skyrim With Friends Is A Very Different Game
Might Be Worth Another Run
The best part is that you don't really need to mess around with tons of mods or manually alter the game files in any way. Instead, the team behind Keizaal Online has a launcher that handles all that. The steps to play Keizaal Online are pretty simple:
- Install Skyrim Special Edition (Steam) - with a clean install
- Run the game once and generate the INI files
- Open the Keizaal Online Launcher and target your SkyrimSE.exe
- Click play in the Keizaal Online Launcher and install the needed mods
That's it! Earlier this year, an update added more new player assistance, which helps beyond the installation: "Added an onboarding menu that will explain some rules, lore, and how to start for new players, in addition to a pickaxe, an axe, and 50 septims on their first character."
If you're a Skyrim fan, now could be a great time to get back into the game and enjoy it with other community members.
