How Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 Photos Already Set Up Season 2 Ending

Despite Daredevil: Born Again season 2 having only recently started, it has been foreshadowed that a new mayor will take over for Wilson Fisk sooner rather than later. In an interview with The New York Times, showrunner teased, "Every time I say something, there [are] repercussions. So, Parts one and two of this current story, where Fisk becomes the mayor and Matt leads the resistance—that dynamic comes to a place that is inevitable." While it is "not the end of Fisk’s story in any way, shape, or form," the season 3 photos are strongly suggesting that Luke will be taking on Kingpin in the political world.

While he may not be part of , the set images do set up a massive turnaround for the heroes of New York, especially with Luke's potential run for mayor. This would also pull directly from the comics, where Colter's character ends up winning and replacing Wilson, while also giving the iconic hero a fresh new story direction in the MCU franchise.

It's key that at the time of this story's publication, Marvel Studios has not formally announced the return of Colter and Jones for Daredevil: Born Again season 3, meaning that it will take some time before actual plot details emerge about their upcoming appearances. However, with the cast shooting on location, alongside Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, more information about the plot is bound to emerge over the coming weeks.

Whether Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will start teasing or directly set up Luke and Danny Rand's season 3 remains to be seen. However, given how Charlie Cox's ongoing series is leaning more into the Marvel-Netflix era, it would not be shocking at all if there is at least some foreshadowing to Iron Fist and Luke Cage's next arc in for season 3.

What will be very exciting, however, is to see what Luke and Danny have been up to since their shows ended on Netflix. For viewers who have been following the original Defenders Saga in the MCU, this will make and 3 even more hyped up, especially after how long it took for Marvel Studios to finally acknowledge the Netflix shows as canon to the whole franchise.
